Measure Swing MEchanics
Shoulders vs. Pelvis
Hips move first, followed by shoulders. Find where they cross for a hitter to achieve their maximum exit velocity.
Sequencing
Hitting sequencing (also known as the kinematic sequence) is how a batter generates and transfers speed throughout the body. In most effective swings, each segment builds off of the previous segment to produce/increase speed as it travels up the kinetic chain .
Torso Bend
Maintaining your forward bend through your swing will increase your chances of making solid contact. Efficiently transferring the forward bend angle to your side bend angle will improve power numbers. Combine with pitch location to view numbers throughout the strike zone.
Stride
While stride style can vary dramatically from player to player, finding the optimal style for their swing will set them up for success at heel plant.
Center of Mass
Coaches have always stressed to “stay back on the ball’. The theory here is that forward movement between heel strike and point of impact will sap the power away from the hitter. HitTrax now measures forward movement by tracking the hitter’s center of mass through the swing.
Head Movement
A stable head and focus on the approaching pitch are crucial for solid contact. Head direction and rotation indicate if the hitter is tracking the ball effectively.

Video Sync & overlay
Review high-speed video of the full swing, and easily toggle to the 3D skeleton for 360-degree analysis. Step through frame-by-frame, or jump to specific events such as load, heel strike, and point of impact.

Powerful Analysis Tools
Body segment movements can be visualized individually or in reference to one another to reveal tendencies in sequencing and timing. Summary reports can be generated to illustrate improvements as players work through drill sets and instruction.
